SEDONA•GRAND

CANYON•VERDE CANYON RR

JOURNEY ITINERARY:

Sedona, Verde Valley, and the Grand Canyon are all stunning natural destinations in Arizona, each with its own unique beauty and character.  Enjoy amazing views and

immersive experiences on this small group journey!

DAY ONE:  This sunny Southwest adventure begins as we fly to Phoenix, Arizona followed by a short drive north to our overnight accommodations in Sedona for the next four nights. Enjoy the views of saguaros, desert plains and mountains along the way.

DAY TWO: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel each morning. Beautiful Sedona greets us as we emerge for a ride aboard a narrated Trolley tour, where you’ll see some of Sedona’s iconic landmarks and learn its history and legends. Then take some time to stretch our legs and stroll through eclectic shops, and stop for lunch with views of the towering red rock desert landscape in every direction. After lunch, it’ll be time to head to the memorable Chapel of the Holy Cross, one of National Geographic’s top visit picks in the region. Set against the gorgeous, 1,000 foot cliffs, the chapel’s famous stained glass windows create an awe inspiring atmosphere. We’ll conclude the day with a group welcome dinner.

DAY THREE: Early birds can join the group for a sunrise stop at Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte in the Coconino National Forest. This famous Sedona landmark offers stunning landscapes for photographs, and short easy trails to meander amidst nature as day begins. One of the many “vortex” sites Sedona is known for. Once back in town, we’ll head to the Sedona Heritage Museum. An original farmstead of the Jordan Family, the museum now hosts exhibits highlighting early settlers of the region, ranching and cowboys, and movie making history in the area. After lunch, we’ll take a short drive south to Verde Canyon, AZ to board the historic Verde Canyon Railroad Tour. This 20-mile, 4 hour journey through the towering rock buttes and deep river canyons is an inspiring and fun adventure! Watch for a myriad of wildlife as you relax aboard the refurbished and comfy rail cars. We’ll return to Sedona for the overnight.

DAY FOUR: Start the day with some adventure on a Pink Jeep Sedona Tour! These rugged off road vehicles sweep you into the backcountry of this beautiful region, allowing for access to panoramic views and ancient sites that can’t be reached otherwise. We’ll then have time to visit and explore Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village for our lunch and leisurely afternoon. Tlaquepaque Village is internationally renowned for its distinctive sights, sounds and tastes. Modeled after a traditional Mexican village, it’s been a Sedona landmark since the 1970’s. Browse traditional silversmith jewelry shops, enjoy fry bread near the fountains, or just relax under the sycamores and admire the architecture before returning to our hotel.

DAY FIVE: Our day begins with a drive north through the Coconino National Forest into Flagstaff, then onto the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The stunning majesty of the largest natural canyon on the planet will not disappoint! Up to 18 miles wide, 277 miles long and nearly a mile deep, the Grand Canyon is one of the Wonders of the World. We will have plenty of time to stroll the paths and trails along the rim, browse through the National Park Visitors Center, and take all those impressive selfies for your family and friends back home. Lunch will have the best views! Our overnight after leaving the canyon will be in the iconic Route 66 town of Williams, AZ.

DAY SIX: We’ll drive back to Phoenix, and then catch our flight home to St. Louis. The magic of the desert Southwest will call you back again and again!
